Social Media

Social Media
Social media allows people to connect with friends and strangers around the world to share views and experiences.

This can be an opportunity to build networks and influence change and it also gives people the power to reach out for support beyond their normal network of contacts.

Sadly, while there are benefits there are people who use it to abuse others and there are sensible precautions for safe use of social media.

Here are a few tips on keeping safe:

Be careful not to post sensitive information and be careful with security settings to ensure only known 'friends" can access your photos and other information.

Don't accept invitations or friend requests from people you don't know.

Be careful before clicking on links.

Don't let someone bully you or influence you to do something you are not comfortable with.

Think carefully before "checking in" at say Gatwick airport for the start of a two week holiday.

When you post online you may not be able to remove it, so if in doubt, it's probably not better not to post it.
